Thursday, March 21st, 2013

It’s that time of year again for Jeep Off Road Enthusiasts! The 47th annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari is fast approaching March 23rd thru March 31st 2013 in the great area of Moab, Utah. Started in 1967 by the Moab Chamber of Commerce this event grew into one of the biggest off road events in the country. On March 20th, Jeep® is unveiling six more exciting concept vehicles crafted with Mopar performance parts! Get your rig ready for this event with performance parts and accessories at LiveOffroad.com.

Jeep® Wrangler Slim – Everything performance wise on this vehicle has been trimmed in weight but not strength to get a greater overall lowered weight. This edition is powered by the 3.6 liter V6.

Jeep® Wrangler Slim

Jeep® Wrangler Flattop – A highly styled concept with a custom one-piece hard top with no window and equipped with heavy duty Mopar off road gear.

Jeep® Wrangler Stitch – Based on the Rubicon models the weight has been cut from all possible areas on this no frills Wrangler with Viper front seats and similar power to weight ratio as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

Jeep® Wrangler Mopar Recon – Powered with the 6.4 liter Hemi V8 this beast has a 470 hp engine with a 5 speed automatic transmission. Many Mopar accessories have been added.

Jeep® Wrangler Sand Trooper II from Mopar - Features the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 giving it 375 horsepower and 400 ft.-lb. of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission sends the HEMI power to Mopar eight-lug front and rear Portal axles for added ground clearance. Jeep Performance Parts prototype forged beadlock wheels carry 40-inch off-road tires giving it a taller more masculine stance.

Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept – Powered by the new EcoDiesel V6 motor, this Grand Cherokee has plenty of off road prowess with lots of low end torque.

Check out all of these new Jeep® concept vehicles at the event and let us know which ones were your favorites! For more information on the event check out the Red Rock 4-Wheelers, Inc. page.

Jeep Wrangler Heading Back to its Roots

By admin · Comments (0)
Thursday, June 14th, 2012

Several years ago Chrysler started marketing the Jeep Wrangler to overseas military markets. The vehicles are being produced in Egypt and in Israel. By hot-forming steel the shell of the vehicle has been strengthened enough to be awarded the BRV 2009 VR7 ballistic protection certification. Jeep is certainly embracing its military roots as the company markets the Wrangler as the ideal cargo or troop transport vehicle.

A British company that originally specialized in sports cars in the 1950s and then limousines for the ultra rich are now creating a military version of the beloved American Jeep Wrangler. The ultra rich clients of Jankel are aged and have started dying off so the British company entered the military market. In 2008 Jankel partnered with Chrysler to hopefully sell the Jeep Wrangler to the military European market. The militarized version of the Wrangler is cheaper than Mercedes Benz and Land Rover which would fit better for countries with shrinking budgets.

The Jeep J8 features six variants in its military lineup: light patrol and border patrol; personnel carrier; cargo and communications; military armored; ambulance; and pickup/chassis cab. Switzerland has started testing the personnel and cargo carrier version.

Diesel Jeep Wrangler Teaser

By admin · Comments (0)
Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

At this years Utah Moab event several different Jeep concept models were revealed. While these were exciting enough what really got the attention of consumers was the possibility of a Diesel engine for next years Jeep Wrangler. Consumers have been asking for this option for quite a while. With the diesel drivers could run a biodiesel blend fuel which increases fuel efficiency, costing less at the pump, and lowering emissions. There is also a chance it would give better torque for Crawling.

What are Legal Lift Modifications?

By admin · Comments (1)
Thursday, April 19th, 2012

What are the legal lift regulations and restrictions? This is what many Jeep and off-road enthusiasts ask all the time. The laws vary by state and it is best to contact your local law enforcement agency (state police or highway patrol) to find out about your area to avoid being ticketed. A great website to check for state by state information is LiftLaws.com. Besides being ticketed for certain modification offenses, insurance companies can refuse coverage. Protect yourself from these circumstances by doing a little research first on what is acceptable, and be upfront and honest with your insurance company, certain companies will allow modifications.
