The 2011 Jeep® Wrangler’s Got a Brand New Bag

The 2011 Jeep WranglerThanks to the new Chrysler – Fiat alliance, Jeep® consumers are in for a treat in 2011, with driver friendly upgrades, re-vamped interiors and improvements in 16 Chrysler vehicles, including the 2011 Jeep® Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited.

Production for the 2011 Jeep® Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited began this month, and already, photos and articles boasting new interior upgrades and other departures from Wranglers-past are popping up everywhere. For those who get nostalgic and misty-eyed over a “persistently plastic” monotone interior, Chrysler has offered at least one “piece of the past” to placate your loss, with hex-head bolts used throughout the interior, mounting a “Jeep, Since 1941″ inlay to the new passenger grab handle (ooohhhh, but so soft this time around)! For those who have cringed at the less-than-luxurious interior of Wranglers-past, and wished there was more creature-comfort for your muddy ride, the 2011 Wrangler delivers!

New and notable features of the 2011 Jeep® Wrangler:
• Redesigned instrument panel and center stack
• New storage options and a lockable console
• Larger rear windows for better visibility while driving
• Heated, power mirrors (Available option)
• Three-spoke steering wheel with built in controls for operating the radio, cruise control, a hands-free phone, and other functions…
• USB interface for iPod and other MP3 players
• 12-Volt Accessory outlets
• One 110-volt outlet similar to what you would use in your home
• The inclusion of acoustic dampening materials in the cabin that work to reduce outside noise
• Two-tone interiors are now an option!
• And last (but not least), the Sahara model has a brand new body-colored hard top!!!!
* New colors for Wrangler include Detonator Yellow, Deep Cherry Red, Sahara Tan, Cosmos Blue and Bright White

Mechanically, the 2011 Wrangler / Unlimited remains unchanged, with a 3.8 liter V-6 engine and six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission; however, the 2011 interior upgrades alone are enough to make you want to trade your old stand-by in for new, modern comfort in the same Wrangler you have come to know and love, on and off the road.

The 2010 Jeep® “Rocks and Road Tour”

What do air shows, fairs, festivals and Jeep® Brand ultimate off-road test courses have in common? Apparently a lot, since a new “Jeep® Rocks and Road Tour” has rolled into cities across the country, giving consumers and Jeep® owners a sneak peek into the private world of Jeep® testing. With obstacles simulated to recreate the rigorous testing that Jeep® vehicles undergo before they are presented to the consumer world, Jeep® offers an “inside” experience to those who want it, and the opportunity to test-drive the new 2011 Jeep® Vehicle Line-up, including the 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee!

“We have created the Jeep Rocks & Road Tour to provide our current and potential customers with an adventurous experience that is exclusive to the Jeep brand,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “We are partnering with various venues across the country to reach out to our loyal Jeep consumers, while branching out to those with new interest in the one-of-a-kind Jeep brand. This tour provides an ideal venue to experience the countless features and legendary capability offered in the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as the other vehicles in the Jeep brand family.”

Trained instructors will be on hand to assist those attending with navigation through various off-road situations, such as log crossings, steep grades and rocky trails. The event even offers a “Jeep Playground” for Jeep® owners who brought their own ride to the show. For families attending with their children, there will be “Power Wheels” mini-Jeep vehicles and rock climbing walls.

The next “Jeep® Rocks and Road Tour” is scheduled for this weekend (August 27th – August 29th) at the Offutt Defenders of Freedom Air Show in Bellevue, NE (near Omaha, NE). All drivers must present a valid Driver’s License and be 18 years of age or older.  Friday, August 27 is a special, Jeep-only day, as the Offutt Defenders of Freedom Air Show will not start until Saturday, August 28. Due to space restrictions, there will be no Jeep Owner’s Playground at this Jeep Rocks & Road Tour event.

Both the Offutt Defenders of Freedom Air Show and Jeep Rocks & Road Tour are free and open to the public.

Get ready for the 2010 Jeep® Jamboree!

2010 Jeep Jamboree

Set to be the “largest Jeep owner’s event in the Southern hemisphere”, this year’s Jeep “Jambo”, held at Lardner Park near Warragul, Victoria presents the priceless opportunity for Jeep owners to congregate and share their passion for off-road adventure with no less than four full days of four wheel driving for all levels of experience…not to mention a trade alley, activities for the children and family oriented events celebrating the Jeep “way of life”.

While the National Jeep Jamboree is held every two years in Australia, this U.S. event is anticipated to be “a cut above”, as Chrysler Australia has announced it’s support and partnership with the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club in the planning and execution of the four-day event. Behind the “Jambo” lies a unique tradition of celebration, innovation and Jeep off-road fun. Birthed in 1953 by Mark A. Smith in a creative attempt to boost the economy of Georgetown, California, the first “Jamboree” was an organized Jeep trek running across the Sierra Nevada Mountains and through the old Rubicon trail.
